Meet the Farmer

Hi! Thank you so much for being here! If you’re here, that means you care about flowers and/or locally-sourced goodies. My name is Alyssa Thome and I am the owner and grower at Blue House Flower Company. I am a third grade bilingual teacher, but during the spring, summer, and fall months I run a small flower business out of my back yard. My husband, Ben, is also a huge help.

I use about 600 square feet in my back yard to supply my small business. It’s an exciting challenge to grow as much as I can in such a small area! I love the feeling of planting a tiny seed, nursing it to a seedling, planting it outside, and eventually harvesting a stunning flower to share with you all!
